गंगोत्री ग्लेशियर (Gangotri Glacier) चारों ओर से लगातार सिकुड़ रहा है. देश के हिमालयी (Himalyan) राज्यों में 9597 ग्लेशियर हैं. 87 साल में देश के बड़े ग्लेशियरों में से एक उत्तराखंड (Uttarakhand) का गंगोत्री ग्लेशियर 1.7 किमी पीछे खिसक चुका है।
